Alvina Ruprecht is professor emerita of Carleton University. Since retiring she has become adjunct professor (professeur auxiliaire) in the graduate Program of Theatre Studies at the University of Ottawa. She reviewed theatre for 30 years for CBC (national radio of Canada on the Ottawa Morning Show (1981-2011) and currently writes for multiple web sites in France and Canada (theatredublog.unblog.fr, www.capitalcriticscircle.com www.scenechanges.com, as well as www.criticalstages.org). She has taught at the University of Antilles-Guyane (U.A.G.) in Martinique and Guadeloupe. Her research and publications have focussed on Francophone theatres of the Caribbean. She is currently working on the Francophone theatres of the South Pacific (French Polynesia, New Caledonia) and of the Indian Ocean (l'Ile de la Réunion, Mayotte and Madagascar).
